West Raglan Project: Nickel-Copper Exploration
Donner Metals holds approximately 14% interest in Knight Resources Ltd. which is in partnership with Anglo American Exploration (Canada) Limited (‘AAEC’) on the West Raglan nickel, copper PGM project in northern Québec. The Knight/AAEC joint venture owns mineral title to approximately 720 km2 of land on the same geological trend as the Xstrata Nickel's Raglan Mine (35 million tonnes grading 2.90% nickel, 0.80% copper, 0.06% cobalt and 3 g/t PGE) within the prolific Cape Smith Nickel Belt. The property covers 65 kilometres of strike length of the Raglan Formation, geological host of Raglan mineralization, and 65 kilometres of strike length of the Delta Horizon which hosts mineralization discovered by Canadian Royalties in 2003.
Since 2003, AAEC and Knight have discovered numerous Raglan-style, massive sulphides associated with ultramafic rocks in outcrop and in drilling. The ongoing resource exploration program includes drilling, regional and detailed geological mapping, prospecting, "state of the art" geophysics and geochemistry.
Concentration of nickel (Nickel tenors) in 100% sulphides is similar to those observed at Xstrata's Raglan deposits. Highlight results from the latest drill program:
